The Seattle Seafair Pirates Official Web Site - Pirate Kings of the Northwest since 1949 It's a high-humored heist by the Seattle SEAFAIR Pirates. The salty troupe's shenanigans and formidable float, the Duck, have become synonymous with SEAFAIR revelry. The Pirates, originally members of the Washington State Press Club's Ale & Quail Society, banded together in 1949 to promote Seattle and Seafair while having fun and serving the community. Despite their bad-guy image, the Pirates make dozens of appearances annually to hospitals and nursing homes. During the height of Seattle's SEAFAIR Celebration, they appear at several events and parades each day. The 40+ Pirates are an elite troupe who carefully selects their members based on their ability to mix well with the public and for their unique musical or theatrical talents.

The Seafair Pirates' Holiday Treasure Chest

A 501c3 tax deductable charity

It only takes one person to make a difference

As the weather changes and begins to turn colder, it is time to sit back, reflect, and count our blessings.

Yes, another year has passed.  To us, it seems like just yesterday that we were working on last year’s Food Basket Program.

With the help of an abundance of caring and fortunate people from the community last year, we distributed nearly 18,000 individual toys and we were able to see that over 500 families had a quality Christmas dinner, presents for the children and a much brighter Holiday.

We also saw to it that over 12 tons of goods were delivered to local service providing charities.  With greater resources and more diligence, we know that we could have served an even greater number of deserving families.  For this reason, we have begun our efforts even earlier this year.

We understand that it is difficult think of Christmas while we have just finished watching parades and looking for our favorite Pirate.  However, we are asking that each of us consider sharing our blessings and abundance with the families that are less fortunate during this coming holiday season.

Very little is required of any of us to assure that not only will these families enjoy an abundant holiday, but also each child in every family will receive at least one-two new, quality toys this Christmas.

Our goal is to see these families with smiles on their faces during what could otherwise be a discouraging time of the year.

We are a registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit.  Our new Tax ID number is 26-1418451 – Seafair Pirate Charity Foundation dba Seafair Pirates Holiday Treasure Chest.

Thank you for your time and consideration of our project.  We at “Pirate central” like to say – “Individually we can make a difference,  together we can make an impact.”  Thank you for caring, and thank you most of all for helping us make an impact.  Yes Seattle, there is a Santa Claus and he’s dressed like a Seafair Pirate!

Sincerely Yours,

How You Can Help

Monetary / Product Donation

N Gift Cards! These allow us the flexibility to donate the card to a family or use it to fulfill a specific gift request

N Check
(Made payable to Seafair Pirates-HTC)

N Gas Cards (This helps the families that do not have transportation and rely on their friends and family as well as the families that drive themselves and are low on funds.)

N Donate a new unwrapped toy or gift item. (Please remember when purchasing that we distribute gifts to all age groups up through age 18. We find that teenagers are oft en neglected during the purchasing process.)

Volunteer Opportunities

N Wrap Donation Boxes

N Pick up donations from local businesses

N Assemble Food Boxes

N After all the toys have been purchased and collected - there comes the task of getting everything ready for pick-up. This requires a great deal of sorting and organizing in the days preceding pick-up as well as helping parents on distribution days.
